Chat Feature

Snorbe’s chat feature allows you to ask questions and request research from your AI assistant using natural language. You don’t need to learn any specialized commands. Simply say “look into this” as you would in everyday conversation, and the AI will search the knowledge graph for relevant information and provide clear answers.

What You Can Do

Ask Questions and Get Answers

The AI answers your questions based on information stored in the knowledge graph. It summarizes and explains content from academic papers, patents, news articles, and more.

Request Research

Simply say “research [topic]” and the AI will automatically gather information and create a structured report.

Reference Past Research

Use the @mention feature to incorporate previous research results and uploaded files into your conversation for deeper exploration.

Screen Layout

On desktop, the chat and Knowledge Graph are displayed side by side. You can give instructions while viewing the graph and watch the graph update in real time as you continue the conversation. On mobile, the graph can be opened as an overlay from a button.

Basic Usage

Sending a Message

Enter your question or instruction in the input field at the bottom of the screen, then click the send button. The AI will understand your question and provide an optimal response.
The more specific your question, the more precise the answer you’ll receive. We recommend including both the topic and the aspect you want to know about, such as “Tell me about the heat resistance of semiconductor materials.”

Referencing Past Research with @Mentions

When you type ”@” in the chat input field, a list of previously executed agents appears. When you mention an agent, its information is prioritized in the chat history, allowing you to reference past research content. Usage Examples:
@semiconductor-research Tell me about the companies mentioned in this research
@market-analysis-report Summarize the key conclusions

Delegating to Another Agent via @Mention

If your workspace has multiple Agents (AI personas with distinct expertise), you can address any Agent directly to delegate a question. Asking a single Agent:
@research-agent Tell me the latest trends in the semiconductor industry
The research agent replies independently, and you can keep the conversation going in the same chat. Asking several Agents at once:
@research-agent @reviewer-agent What do you think of this proposal?
When you mention two or more Agents, Snorbe reads the intent of your message and picks a flow automatically:
  • Independent opinions (e.g. “give me each of your perspectives”) → every mentioned Agent replies in parallel
  • Sequential hand-off (e.g. “A drafts a plan, then B reviews it”) → a chain kicks off: the first Agent responds, then the next one picks up the previous reply and continues
Agents chaining to Agents: An Agent that’s been addressed can itself @-mention another Agent in its own reply. That way a “researcher” can naturally hand findings to a “writer”, producing a multi-step flow without you orchestrating it manually.
Chain depth is capped for safety (default 10 hops), so runaway loops are prevented. Via the API, maxChainSteps lets you tune this between 1 and 50.

Asking Questions with Attached Files

You can upload files in chat to ask questions about their contents.
  1. Click the clip icon next to the input field
  2. Select a file (PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint are supported)
  3. Enter your question about the file’s contents
To upload multiple files at once, simply drag and drop them into the input field.
Uploaded files are automatically added to the knowledge graph and will be referenced in future research as well.

Stopping Research

While research is running, a stop button appears next to the input field. Click it to interrupt the research immediately. Use this when the direction feels off or when you want to switch to a different instruction.

Copying Responses

Use the copy icon in the top-right corner of any AI response to copy the content. Markdown format is also supported, so you can paste directly into documents.

Benefits of This Feature

Low Learning Curve

No need to memorize special commands or search syntax. Simply speak naturally and you’ll find the information you’re looking for.

Context-Aware

The AI provides answers based on previous conversation context. Even when you ask follow-up questions like “Tell me more” or “Why is that?”, the context remains intact.

Seamless Research Connection

You can request full-scale research directly from your chat questions. Any questions that come to mind can immediately be turned into research.

Available Tools

When you send a message, the AI automatically selects and uses the most appropriate tool based on your input. You don’t need to think about which tool to use.
ToolWhat it does
Web SearchSearches the internet for the latest information — news, papers, technical articles, and more
X SearchCollects real-time discussions and trends from posts on X (formerly Twitter)
BrowsingOperates web pages directly to extract information. Supports sites that require login
URL SummaryReads and summarizes a specified URL. Also used to read uploaded PDFs, images, and documents
Extract Related URLsAutomatically discovers and lists all pages and links within a website
RecallSearches and retrieves past research results and memories stored in the knowledge graph
ReportCompiles research into a long-form document, report, or manuscript
Viewpoint MatrixOrganizes and compares multiple subjects in a table. Also supports adding to an existing matrix
Plan ModePlans and executes complex multi-step tasks incrementally
Custom SkillRuns a specialized skill — either custom-built or from Snorbe’s official skill library — in a sandboxed environment
Agent Memory UpdateOrganizes and updates the agent’s memory based on the conversation. Context carries over to future research sessions
You can also specify which tool to use by saying things like “search on X” or “summarize this URL.” If you don’t specify, the AI will automatically choose the best tool for the job.

Common Use Cases

As a Starting Point for Research

Even when your research topic is still vague, asking the AI questions can help you grasp an overview of the information. Ask “What are the recent trends in battery materials?” and it will summarize key points from relevant papers and news. From there, you can dive deeper into topics that interest you.

Understanding Reports

Professional reports and patent documents can take time to understand. Use @mention to specify a file and ask “What are the key points of this chapter?” - the AI will extract and explain the main points. You can efficiently understand even lengthy documents.

As a Sounding Board for Ideas

When considering new business ideas or research directions, you can organize your thoughts through dialogue with the AI. Ask “If we apply this technology, what markets might exist?” and it will suggest potential areas based on information in the knowledge graph. Turn time spent pondering alone into progress through conversation.
Related Features Information obtained through chat can be used directly for perspective matrices and structured report outputs.
